Eye Center Story
The
Garrett Eye Center is dedicated exclusively to restoring vision.
Since 1979, we have consistently adopted the newest proven methods
of restoring vision. We were the first in this area to use advanced
small incisions cataract surgery techniques and other procedures
that provided added safety and faster recovery to those with vision
problems. We opened the first Outpatient Surgery Center in the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan and were the first specialty eye surgery
center with advanced surgical laser systems.
We understand how the quality of your
vision affects the quality of
your life. This is the fundamental reason why Dr. John Michael
Garrett established a state-of-the-art eye care center here in the
Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
We always conduct a thorough ophthalmic exam, which includes
diagnostic testing and evaluation, because it can detect a lot more
than just the need for glasses or contacts,
glaucoma surgery or
cataract removal. A complete eye exam can also detect hypertension,
diabetes and hyperthyroidism and a number of other medical
conditions which reveal themselves through the eyes.
If you require surgical care, the Garrett Eye Center has its own
Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). Certified by Medicare and having
Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
(JCAHO), accredited with Commendation Certification, the outpatient
ASC performs all types of eye surgery, from cataract surgery to
highly advanced laser retinal surgery.
